It's spring in the Northwoods and everywhere you look there are signs that nature is waking from her long winter nap. The lake is beginning to open, the birds are singing, and there is just a few small areas where the snow is making its last stand before surrendering completely.
Jozsef and I went for a walk through the forest yesterday and the wonderful smell of spring filled the air. We saw the first ducks of the year sitting in an area of open water, and I am anxiously awaiting the return of the loons, whose soulful serenade brings peace to my spirit.
I love spring! It is a reminder that new life is everywhere, even when we can't see it, it is still there, quietly waiting to burst forth!
